While having a decent sounding headphone is important, for a person who uses his headphones for hours on end, having a comfortable headphone is much more important. Edifier H840 fits the bill for these two conditions, and you can comfortably wear these headphones for extended periods and you will not notice any discomfort, which I can’t say for many of the other headphones in the market.
BUILD
The headphone has a sturdy build made of plastic and looks very sleek. The headband is made of metal and there is a cushion at the top for a comfortable fit. The earpads are soft and your ear gets covered comfortably. Just make sure to not use it when your ear is wet as the covering on the earpad tends to get affected.
Sound Quality
So it's comfortable, but how is its sound quality? For its price, it sounds really good and can give headphones priced much higher a run for its money. The headphone has a balanced sound tuning and is not bass-heavy, tuned especially for music which will be a treat.
The sound separation is really good but the sound stage is a bit lacking but it is expected for the price range. Just use a good equaliser and tune it to the way you want and it will work wonders.
Packaging
The packaging is minimal with some documentation and nothing much else except the headphone. For protection, you might want to buy a carry case if you use it while travelling.
Noise Cancellation
While you can’t expect any active noise cancellation there is some passive noise cancellation as it covers your ears nicely. This helps you to not amp up the volume too high if you are in a noisy environment.
